Overview
B.G Selfloading is a full phase independent logging company based out of Vanderhoof BC. We specialize in custom logging for a variety of customers throughout the Vanderhoof and Ft St James forest districts. We pride ourselves in our record of customer service through honesty and efficiency.
We are seeking a equipment operator to join our highly qualified harvest team starting immediately. We are seeking an operator with experience in logging, and who has run multiple machines or who specializes in one specific one. Skidder, decker, buncher, processor, loader are all options.
Duties
- Operate and monitor machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Work along side our current professional harvest crew to learn company methods and policies.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to prevent downtime .
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor mechanical issues as they arise (changing hoses, teeth, fix leaks, ect).
- Clearly communicate in a timely manner major mechanical issues to service team.
- Maintain accurate records of safety paperwork and equipment performance.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
- Assist in training new operators on equipment and safety procedures as necessary.
- Willingness to stay in camp.
Experience
- 5 years previous experience in logging.
- Familiarity with operating other machinery or heavy equipment is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- A commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and follow relevant safe practices.
- Previous experience with, or willingness to learn, electronic time sheets/safety documentation system.

Pay: $30.00-$45.00 per hour
