Overview:
We are seeking a motivated, positive and dependable full-time GIS Analyst to join our team of GIS, Software, and Resource Professionals at our North Vancouver or Williams Lake, BC office.
As a GIS Analyst, you will be responsible for creating, modifying, maintaining, displaying and troubleshooting GIS maps and databases for utilities and forestry-based projects in the Natural Resource sector.
This role involves working closely with both staff and clients to complete a variety of GIS tasks to meet client deliverables. You will work as part of a team of GIS professionals on a range of projects, leveraging your GIS expertise and client interaction skills. Job Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of a GIS Analyst will include, but not limited to:

Spatial data management and analysis
-
Developing and delivering on operational mapping projects with tight timelines
-
Managing incoming field-collected data
-
Converting, importing, managing, and manipulating data from a variety of sources
-
Performing QA/QC tasks to ensure GIS data integrity
-
Using Python, SQL, or other scripting language to perform tasks
-
Troubleshooting issues related to GIS and web-based mapping systems
-
Maintenance and development of GIS infrastructure.
Qualifications:
-
Formal education in GIS, with a background in Natural Resources, Geography, or Computer Science

A minimum of three (3) years of GIS experience working on natural resource based mapping projects

Experience using Esri, QGIS, and mobile products for data collection, mapping, and analysis

Experience leveraging map series or other methods for automated map production
-
Experience in programming and scripting using Python, SQL, or Arcade

Excellent data management and cartographic skills

Strong reasoning and troubleshooting abilities, with attention to detail

Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a focus on customer service

Legally authorized to work in Canada.
Compensation:
-
The pay range for this position is $29- $39 per hour; pay will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
