Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Welder / Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will lead the fabrication and welding of complex metal components—ensuring precision, safety, and high quality on every project. Responsibilities
Fabrication & Assembly
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical schematics.
- Operate shop equipment—including press brakes, plasma cutters, shear machines, and power tools—to shape, cut, and fit metal parts.
- Use calipers, micrometers, and precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and maintain tight tolerances.
- Perform rigging, crane, and forklift operations to safely lift, move, and position heavy materials.
Welding & Quality Control
- Perform high-precision MIG and TIG welding across various metals and gauges, ensuring structural integrity and clean weld appearance.
- Assemble fabricated parts into finished custom products and structural weldments following job specs.
- Conduct visual inspections of completed welds and structural fits to uphold quality standards.
Safety & Shop Operations
- Adhere strictly to shop safety protocols, PPE requirements, and material handling procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe personal work area (5S practices).
Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of hands-on custom fabrication and structural welding experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Advanced proficiency in both MIG and TIG welding techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to read and work from complex blueprints and fabrication drawings.
- Proficient with shop machinery (press brake, plasma cutter, band saws) and precision measuring tools.
- Strong shop math skills (angles, tolerances, layout calculations).
- Ability to lift heavy materials and safely operate overhead cranes or forklifts.
Preferred:
- Valid welding certifications (CWB, AWS, or equivalent).
- Experience with ductwork fabrication or heavy industrial structural work.
- Formal rigging or overhead crane safety certification.
