We are currently hiring an Experienced Welder/Fitter for one of our clients, a manufaturer
in automation feed equipment for stampers, fabricators, and manufacturers .
In this role, you will manufacture and fabricate finished metal products, interpret blueprints, and perform high-quality welding across various positions and materials.
Our client is located in the Tomken and Britannia area of Mississauga.
Day shift: Monday through Thursday 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM, and Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Pay Rate: $25.00 per hour
Key Responsibilities
- Fabrication & Assembly: Read and interpret fabrication blueprints, schematics, and drawings of large complicated fabrications. Lay out, position, align, and secure parts prior to welding using measuring tools like squares, calipers, and rulers.
- Welding Operations: Perform MIG, TIG welding on mild steel, and other alloys in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
- Quality & Testing: Conduct tests and inspections to evaluate weld quality, check tolerances, and ensure compliance with specifications using straightedges and templates.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform basic maintenance, troubleshoot breakdowns, and maintain tools and welding equipment.
- Safety & Compliance: Maintain a safe work environment, adhere to all company health and safety regulations, and properly use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of related experience in welding, manufacturing, and metal fitting.
- Education: College or technical trade school diploma in welding is required. CWB certification .
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in reading and understanding blueprints, engineering schematics, and work orders.
- Strong knowledge of MIG and TIG (GTAW).
- Needs to understand heat distribution in reference to distortion of product.
- Solid mathematical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and manual dexterity.
Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills in English is a must
Physical Requirements: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, stand for extended periods, and handle heavy loads (up to 50 lbs) in a physically demanding shop environment.
Environment: Noisy, dusty, fast-paced shop/plant environment with potential for overtime as required.
