About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our residential property management team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the overall condition, safety, and appearance of residential properties while providing excellent service to residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general repairs and maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, and basic HVAC repairs.
- Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Conduct routine inspections of building systems and common areas.
- Complete unit turnovers, including preparing suites for new residents.
- Troubleshoot and repair maintenance issues within apartments and common areas.
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors when specialized repairs are required.
- Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment.
- Assist with preventative maintenance programs.
- Perform seasonal property maintenance, including snow removal coordination and grounds upkeep.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency maintenance requests as required.
- Maintain accurate records of completed work orders and inspections.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of maintenance, building operations, or property management experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, and general building maintenance.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve maintenance issues efficiently.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Basic computer skills for work order management and communication.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Building maintenance certifications are considered an asset.
- Experience working in residential apartment buildings.
- WHMIS and Health & Safety training.
- Knowledge of property management software is an asset.
