Summary:
The Shipper/ Receiver performs shipping and/or receiving duties, including preparing product for shipment, recording product shipping/receiving information, prioritizing shipments, physically moving product. This position requires familiarity with customs documentation and works within well-defined procedures and Company policies.

What You'll Do:
Technical Experience:
-
Grade 12 or equivalent
-
Post-Secondary education including PMAC, APICS or other related materials management courses / Inventory Management Program is considered an asset.

Ability to use a computer / data entry
-
Valid Forklift certificate required
-
Mobile equipment training (i.e. mobile crane) is considered an asset
-
Inventory Management Program is considered an asset.
-
ERP (Visual manufacturing) Knowledge is considered an asset
-
4 + years’ experience in a similar shipper/receiver role
Main Responsibilities:
-
Must be able to do all shipping and receiving functions and maintain accurate records, as required by the company. Arranging transport with tracking companies and negotiating for best rate.

Certified and able to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

Offload trucks and inspect material to packing slips & verify HT #s, if required per EBCO QA Manual

Customs (documents and border liaison) Production coordinating liaison between shop floor, sub-contractors, suppliers, and Planning dept.

Responsible for coordination of all sub-contractors, -shipping aids expediting

Match packing slips to P.O’s, C.O.C’s, MSDS’s etc. and date stamp. Call for certs when not included.

Mark item with job#, B/M# and item#. Allocate material to designated areas (i.e. door E,F,G etc.,) & notify Dept Supervisor or Manager. Also, update receiving/shipping status into the ERP system.

Generate receiving requisitions for all P.O’s requiring Q.A approval. Send receiving requisitions, C.O.C or Certificates for QA approval

Has good written and oral communication skills.

Familiar with common materials used in our shop and their associated special handling and storage requirements and knowledge of W.H.M.I.S.

Is aware of his/her own role and responsibility within the ISO9001:2008 Quality Management System (QMS) and can instruct others on its application and use.

Experienced with NAFTA and US customs regulations and familiar with how to access international regulations for other exports to ensure compliance.

Special Requirements

Must have steel-toed safety shoes.

Forklift Certificate required.

Physical ability to stand/ walk for most of your day, lift items of varying weights (up to 50lbs.) at varying heights.
