Join our team as a Clinical Informatics Specialist in the Health Information System (HIS) Department!
The HIS Department is responsible for the transformation of patient safety and care through the implementation of the Epic Health Information System. The vision of the HIS Department is to deliver an integrated health information management system and increase the quality and safety of care enhancing both the patient and provider experience now and for generations to come. By joining this team, you will be have opportunity to travel to EPIC headquarters to become EPIC certified, a highly marketable asset. This position will be based out of the Hunt Club Campus for Project Fusion.
As a Clinical Informatics Specialist in the HIS Department, you will bring the clinical knowledge and leadership required to lead clinicians, departments and programs through business process and patient flow redesign. Throughout the course of your duties, you will be required to:
Plan the design and development as well as provide training and support for various clinical applications;
Liase between the clinical stakeholders and the HIS team;
Assist clinicians to develop and retain the clinical systems knowledge and skills required to excel in the automated health care environment;
Manage project deliverables using application implementation methodologies;
Work with various stakeholders for system changes, upgrades and enhancements.
Primarily days, some evenings and weekends, on-call support, 8 hour shifts.
We are seeking exceptional individuals who have the following:
Community College or Undergraduate Degree in Nursing OR Allied Health Discipline;
Current Registration with a professional association or college;
Ten (10) years clinical experience in health care environment;
Recent experience working with an Electronic Health Records Information System;
Proven understanding of clinical service delivery in a hospital environment;
Excellent analytical, problem solving, critical thinking, decision making and oral and written communication skills;
Flexible and adaptable team player that is service and deliverables oriented;
Demonstrated leadership skills;
Eligible to work in Canada.
You will stand out if you have:
Experience in developing testing procedures;
Experience assessing and redesigning clinical workflow;
Experience with implementation of large systems in a complex clinical environment;
Knowledge of project management methodology and tools.
Proficiency in English and French – oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).
