Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Non-Profit Bookkeeper to join our Youth Sports team. This position is suited for someone with previous non-profit experience and consideration will be given to those who have previously worked in a youth sports organization, or school with Gaming Grant knowledge. Please highlight any relevant experience you have had pertaining to our needs.
This vital role involves managing the organization’s financial records, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and transparency in all accounting activities. As a key member of our team, you will support the organization’s mission by maintaining precise financial documentation, overseeing accounts payable and receivable, and assisting with budgeting processes. Your expertise will help us sustain our programs and serve our community effectively.
Note: we prefer to work with a sub contractor for this position vs an employee, but willing to negotiate for the perfect fit to our organization. This is a very casual role with no set days or times for duties, as long as weekly deadlines are met.
Duties
- Maintain accurate financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero
- Process accounts payable and receivable transactions promptly and accurately
- Reconcile bank statements and accounts regularly to ensure data integrity
- Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies and resolve issues efficiently
- Prepare financial reports, including budget summaries and expense reports for management review monthly
- Manage payroll processing in compliance with organizational policies and legal requirements, semi monthly
- Assist with budgeting activities by tracking expenses against approved budgets and forecasts with club treasurer
- Prepare year end documents for the Accounting firm
- Work with the treasurer and management to complete sports grants (gaming)
Qualifications
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting within a non-profit environment
- Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero is essential
- Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation processes with accrual based methods
- Knowledge of payroll administration and related compliance standards with ADP preferred
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills
- Ability to analyze financial data accurately and communicate findings clearly
- Prior experience with budgeting and account analysis is a plus
- Experience with Gaming grants is essential

Pay: $50.00-$75.00 per hour
