Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Inventory Parts Manager to oversee the procurement, management, and distribution of parts within our operations. This role is essential for maintaining optimal inventory levels, ensuring timely availability of parts, and supporting efficient supply chain processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience with procurement and sourcing, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. As Inventory Parts Manager, you will play a pivotal role in streamlining inventory workflows, negotiating with suppliers, and utilizing advanced systems to support manufacturing and service activities.
Dutie
Monitor stock levels to optimize turnover and prevent overstocking.
· Train inventory team members on receiving, storage, picking, issuing, and inventory-control procedures.
· Lead, supervise, train, and evaluate the inventory team while assigning responsibilities and monitoring performance.”
· Oversee regular cycle counts and annual physical inventory audits.
· Maintain appropriate minimum, maximum, reorder-point, and safety-stock levels.
· Investigate and reconcile inventory variances or discrepancies.
· Track purchasing and inventory KPIs, including supplier performance, inventory turnover, stock accuracy, and purchase-price variance.
· Coordinate with maintenance, operations, contractors, and suppliers regarding work-order status.
· Work closely with the maintenance team to identify and fulfill parts, materials, and service requirements
· Identify cost-saving and process-improvement opportunities.
· Monitor shipment status and follow up on delayed or outstanding orders.
· Expedite urgent orders to minimize operational or production delays.
· Create, review, approve, and issue purchase orders accurately and on time.
· Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies involving pricing, quantities, taxes, freight charges, and payment terms.
· Maintain strong relationships with vendors and key account representatives.
· Ensure compliance with company policies, budgets, contracts, and applicable regulations
Skills
- Proven experience in dealership or manufacturing environments with a focus on inventory management.
- Strong data entry skills coupled with proficiency in ERP systems, CMMS platforms, and other inventory software.
- Knowledge of procurement processes, sourcing techniques, and negotiation strategies.
- Familiarity with supply chain management principles and demand planning methodologies.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely when handling heavy or bulky parts.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate record keeping.
- Effective communication skills for liaising with vendors, team members, and internal departments.
- Experience in dealing with complex logistics scenarios involving multiple stakeholders.
