Business Development Lead — Kitchener/Waterloo
Evolta Electric
Kitchener/Waterloo, Ontario
Full-time | Growth role | Local market launch
Build Evolta’s next market with us
Evolta Electric is a fast-growing electrical contractor with a specialization in sustainable and clean energy projects. We are currently based in Ottawa, and we are preparing to launch our next location in Kitchener/Waterloo.
We are looking for a motivated, energetic, and highly entrepreneurial Business Development Lead to help us build the Kitchener/Waterloo market from the ground up. You’ll nurture and expand existing relationships, while working on creating new opportunities across EV charging infrastructure, solar, energy efficiency solutions and battery energy storage systems.
This is not a traditional “sit and wait for leads” sales role. We are looking for someone who wants to get out into the market, meet people, build relationships, create opportunities, and help establish Evolta as the go-to electrical contractor for high-quality residential and commercial sustainability-oriented electrical work.
The right person will be a self-starter, a strong communicator, and a natural relationship-builder. You do not need to have decades of sales experience and you do not need to know the electrical industry. We care more about your energy, drive, judgment, values, and history of success than the exact path you have taken so far.
About Evolta Electric
Evolta Electric is a young, ambitious electrical contractor with a growing team and a strong reputation for quality, professionalism, and practical problem-solving.
Our work includes residential electrical service, commercial electrical projects, EV charger installations, lighting retrofits, building automation systems, and other projects that help customers modernize, electrify, and improve their homes and businesses.
We are building a company that is professional, growth-oriented, and easy to work with. We care about doing good work, treating people well, and building a team with no egos, no drama, and no passengers.
As we expand into Kitchener/Waterloo, we are looking for someone who can represent the Evolta brand with confidence, humility, and enthusiasm.
The opportunity
As Business Development Lead, you will be one of Evolta’s first key hires in the Kitchener/Waterloo market.
Your mission will be simple:
Help Evolta win great customers, build strong local relationships, and grow aggressively in a new market.
You will be responsible for creating and developing new business opportunities across residential and commercial customer segments. You will work closely with Evolta’s leadership, technical team, and future K/W field team to identify prospects, qualify opportunities, follow up consistently, and help turn conversations into booked work.
This is a high-impact role for someone who wants to be part of building something, not just joining something already built.
What you will do
- Build Evolta’s local presence in Kitchener/Waterloo.
- Identify and pursue new residential and commercial customers.
- Develop relationships with property managers, builders, developers, general contractors, businesses, homeowners, realtors, designers, fleet operators, and referral partners.
- Generate leads through outbound calls, emails, networking, referrals, local events, site visits, and relationship-building.
- Respond quickly and professionally to inbound opportunities.
- Qualify potential customers and determine whether they are a good fit for Evolta.
- Work with Evolta’s technical team to prepare quotes, proposals, and solutions.
- Follow up consistently on open opportunities.
- Track all sales activity, opportunities, and next steps in Evolta’s CRM.
- Help identify which services and customer segments have the strongest potential in K/W.
- Represent Evolta professionally in every customer and partner interaction.
- Help shape the local growth strategy as the market develops.
The kind of person we are looking for
We are looking for someone who is:
- A self-starter: You do not need someone checking in every hour to make sure you are moving.
- Wired for growth: You like building relationships, creating opportunities, and winning business.
- Energetic and positive: You bring momentum into a room.
- Easy to work with: You are a team player, low ego, respectful, and good with people.
- Resilient: You can handle rejection, keep going, and improve your approach.
- Organized: You follow up, track your work, and do what you say you are going to do.
- A strong communicator: You can speak with homeowners, trades, business owners, property managers, and executives.
- Curious: You are willing to learn the electrical business, ask questions, and understand customer needs.
- Ambitious: You want a role where success creates more opportunity.
- Brand-conscious: You understand that how you show up matters.
An interest in sustainability, electrification, EV charging, energy efficiency, or better buildings is a strong asset.

We are less concerned with whether you have a long history in sales and more interested in whether you have a track record of success.
You may come from sales, business development, customer service, real estate, construction, home services, hospitality, athletics, entrepreneurship, or another field where you had to work hard, earn trust, and produce results.

- Been a top performer in a previous role.
- Played competitive sports or shown discipline in another high-performance environment.
