Job Description:
We are currently searching for a Director (or Manager), Talent Management based in our Edmonton office.
Reporting to the Chief People & Culture Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development, implementation and management of all Talent Management and Talent Development programs, processes and systems across the company to support our company vision “To be an employer of choice, providing our people with a supportive and fun place to build a career, while bringing inspiration and innovation to our work.”

Your responsibilities will include:
- Provide leadership for aspects of the People and Culture function related to Talent Development, Talent Management, and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging.
- Support activities for the People and Culture function related to Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, HR Operations, and Employee Relations as required.
- Provide leadership and insights for the entire People & Culture function regarding HR best practices to help drive efficiency and effectiveness of the functions’ programs, policies, procedures, and systems.
- Lead the development, implementation and management of talent review tools and processes that identify key talent across the organization and build a culture of ongoing development for all our people.
- Lead the development, implementation and management of succession planning tools and processes that ensure the development of future leaders and experts needed to ensure the continued success and growth of the company.
- Manage all leadership and supervisory development programs including any assessments, 360 feedback, and Executive coaching.
- Oversee all Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging programing and initiatives to continue to evolve the company’s culture as a great place to work and build a career for all people, and develop talent at all levels that is reflective of the communities in which we operate.
- Manage and continually develop performance management tools, processes and training to support the development and growth of all employees.
- Oversee and all career pathing and career development tools, processes and training to provide all employees with clear career development opportunities and purposeful career development.
- Support leaders across the organization with organizational design and effectiveness to help build creation of high-performing team structures that support future success of the company.
- Oversee company mentorship program, and all other programs designed to support employee development across the company.
- Oversee all aspects of learning and development including the company’s Learning Management System (LMS) to ensure we offer the proper mix of internal and external, as well as online and in-person learning programs to support the development of the skills and companies needed to enable Associated Engineering strategy of providing high value engineering design and management services.
- Manage employee engagement surveys including action planning and ongoing communication regarding the survey, results, and progress on actions.
- Provide mentorship and coaching as needed to support the development and success of HR Business Partners, HR Generalists, and HR Coordinators across the company.
- Provide regular reporting and updates on key metrics related to talent management, talent development, and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging across the company.
- Other duties as assigned to support the success of our people and the business.
Job Requirements:
What you will bring:
- 15+ years of professional Human Resources experience (or 10+ years for Manager);
- Masters Degree in Human Resources or related field (or Degree/Diploma for Manager);
- Deep talent management, talent development, performance management, leadership development, diversity, equity and inclusion, and organizational design experience;
- Experience supporting multiple business units within a company with operations spanning across multiple provincial/territory jurisdictions across Canada;
- CPHR designation preferred;
- Executive Coaching Certification preferred;
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills;
- Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationship across organizations;
- Customer service centric style with ability to provide world class Human Resources services that delight internal and external customers.
