Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and safety-conscious Class 1 or Class 3 Vacuum Truck Operator to join our team. In this role, you will operate Vacuum ( Vac ) trucks to perform various industrial waste management tasks at drilling rigs and industrial sites, ensuring efficient removal and transportation of liquids, sludges, and debris. Your expertise will contribute to successful project execution while maintaining the highest safety standards and operational excellence.
Movac Mobile Vacuum Services ("Movac") is hiring Vacuum Truck Operators for ongoing work in the Fort McMurray area, starting immediately.
This is a field-based role suited for operators who take pride in their equipment, work safely, and can operate independently on site.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 1 or Class 3 vacuum trucks in accordance with Movac company policies and regulatory requirements (such as completing daily safety documentation: pre-trip, FLHA, etc)
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks on vacuum trucks to ensure optimal performance (such as performing basic maintenance and inspections as required)
- Coordinate with project teams to execute site-specific tasks at drilling rigs and industrial sites such as industrial waste fluid removal and tank cleaning.
- Maintain accurate logs of work performed, materials transported, and operational data for reporting purposes.
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness and professionalism on site
- Work efficiently without constant supervision
- Follow all site-specific and company safety policies
- Follow all safety procedures including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and hazard recognition.
- Assist with setup and breakdown of equipment at job sites as needed.
Skills
- Valid Class 1 or Class 3 driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Class 1 (preferred) or Class 3 (required) driver’s license with air brakes
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot basic issues on vacuum trucks.
- Previous vacuum truck experience (required)
- Ability to operate 18-speed standard transmission
- Strong understanding of oil field processes
- Familiarity with other heavy equipment.
- Ability to operate auxiliary equipment (preferred)
- Knowledge of safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and hazardous materials handling.

- Oilsands/mine driving: 1 year (required)

- Air Brake Endorsement (required)

- Current CSO tickets (required)
- Current H2S Alive ticket (required)
