Duties
- Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, creating a friendly and welcoming atmosphere
- Manage multi-line phone systems to answer inquiries, schedule appointments, and relay messages efficiently
- Verify patient insurance information and update electronic medical records using Dentrix
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments while maintaining accurate calendar records
- Collect and process payments, co-pays, and insurance claims with attention to detail
- Maintain organized front desk area, ensuring all forms and documentation are readily accessible
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and data entry within electronic medical records systems
- Coordinate with dental team members to ensure smooth daily operations and patient flow
Skills
- Proven experience as a dental receptionist
- Proficiency in Dentrix Software
- Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to dental care and billing processes
- Excellent communication skills for interacting effectively with patients, staff, and insurance providers
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a busy environment
- Experience handling multi-line phone systems with professionalism and efficiency
- Basic office experience including familiarity with administrative tasks like filing, scheduling, and record keeping
- Ability to adapt quickly to new software or procedures as needed
