Startec Compression & Process is currently recruiting a Vessel Lead Hand to work dayshift at our Shepard Shop (9423 Shepard Rd SE, Calgary, AB, T2C 4R6). The Vessel Lead Hand is responsible for leading a team in the fabrication and assembly of pressure vessels, ensuring that work is completed safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards. Reporting to the Vessel Supervisor This role involves hands-on supervision, troubleshooting, and coordination with the Vessel Supervisor to meet production targets and maintain efficiency in operations.

Journeyperson Certificate in welding
- 5+ years of B Pressure welding would be an asset
- Experience in building exchangers and pressure vessels would be an asset
- Ability to read and interpret all red-line markups and blueprints

Working knowledge of the Alberta OHS Act, Regulation, and Code as it pertains to our industry.

Strong knowledge of assembly/fabrication/production processes, techniques, and quality control methods.

Assist in troubleshooting issues, addressing deviations from specifications, and collaborating with Quality Control to maintain standards.
SAFETY (Weighting 20%)-
Promote and enforce a safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with safety policies and conducting regular briefings.

Conduct inspections, address safety hazards, and respond to incidents or near misses promptly.

Ensure accurate documentation of production, quality, and safety records.

Assist in budget management, balancing cost control with quality and safety standards.
