Our well-established and respected optometry practice is seeking a new Optometric Assistant & Sales Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate has experience working in an optometric office or has an optical background, has a willingness to learn, and has strong customer service as well as interpersonal skills. Our new Optometric Assistant will have the opportunity to work with a supportive and intelligent team of professionals in a wide variety of tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate with new and existing patients in person, and via phone and email.
- Manage the appointment book and schedule future appointments using our electronic medical record system.
- Perform pre-testing on our patients prior to their scheduled eye exams with our doctors of optometry.
- Refer our patients to ophthalmologists when necessary.
- Keep patient records up to date.
- Sell glasses and contacts to our patients
- Bill extended health insurance policies through our online portals.
