Job Title: Production Worker

Job Description
This role involves performing a variety of physically demanding general labor tasks in a large manufacturing facility located in north end of Calgary. You support production operations both inside the plant and outdoors in the yard by handling heavy materials, operating basic equipment, and maintaining a clean and safe work area. The position requires consistent heavy lifting, comfort working in all weather conditions, and the ability to contribute effectively in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
Responsibilities

Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50lbs throughout the shift, both inside the plant and outdoors in the yard.

Operate production machinery under guidance to help it run consistently and efficiently.

Shrink wrap finished products and prepare them for shipment by loading and unloading items by hand.

Perform general cleaning duties in the plant and yard, including sweeping, organizing materials, and maintaining a tidy work area.

Work outdoors in all weather conditions while performing heavy lifting, material handling, and yard tasks.

Follow safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment while working in a loud, industrial environment.

Work overtime when required, including weekdays and Saturdays, to meet production demands.
Essential Skills

At least 2 years of industrial experience in manufacturing or construction environment

Strong communication skills to work effectively within a team-based production environment.

Ability to work safely and productively in a loud industrial facility.

Experience as a general laborer, production worker, or in a similar role.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

Machine operating experience in a production or manufacturing setting.

Hands-on experience using power tools such as drills, impact tools, or saws.
Work Environment
The facility includes both indoor production areas and an outdoor yard, so you spend time in varied conditions, including exposure to all types of weather. The environment is loud and industrial. You use power tools and work around heavy equipment, following strict safety practices and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment. The production team is diverse, team-oriented, and highly experienced, with many long-term employees and a unionized structure that includes union dues once hired full time. The production plant team is approximately 60 people, including production operators, general laborers, tradespeople, and forklift operators, with staffing levels varying by season.
Day shift starting at 7:00 a.m. (which may move to 6:00 a.m.) and ending at 3:30 p.m., with overtime required when requested on weekdays and Saturdays.
