Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to provide high-quality care to individuals in need of assistance. The ideal candidate will support residents in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care settings, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. This role involves working closely with seniors and individuals with disabilities, offering personalized care that promotes independence and dignity.
Duties
- Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
- Administer medications as directed by healthcare professionals
- Support clients with dementia or cognitive impairments through specialized care techniques
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs
- Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and maintaining a safe environment
- Monitor and document client health status and report any changes to supervisors
- Assist with transfers and positioning to prevent falls or injuries
- Support clients in participating in recreational activities to enhance quality of life
Requirements
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care is preferred
- Experience working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, or dementia care is highly desirable
- Knowledge of medication administration and caregiving best practices
- Ability to perform cleaning and meal preparation tasks efficiently
- Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills
- Valid certification as a Personal Support Worker (PSW) or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to obtain certification is a plus
- Ability to work flexible hours including shifts that may include evenings or weekends if needed
- Must pass background checks and adhere to health and safety regulations
