Position: Snow Cat Operator (Groomer)
Reports to: VP Operations
Employment: Seasonal Full Time
Job Description:
- Groomers are responsible building and maintaining our Alpine slopes, Nordic trails, terrain park. Operators are also responsible for maintaining lift marshalling areas and snow levels around buildings. The position requires at least two years experience operating a grooming machine in a winter alpine environment.
Position Requirements/Skills:
- Minimum two years slope grooming equipment operation experience
- Self motivated, ability to work well with minimum supervision
- Mechanical aptitude
- Excellent organization, time management and communication skills
- Must have a high level of attention to detail
- Work well within a diverse team environment, be a team player
- Have appropriate winter footwear and clothing
- Flexible availability: including evenings, early mornings, weekends and statutory holidays
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate grooming equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Groom, maintain, rebuild ski runs and Nordic trails, terrain park and accesses
- Build and maintain lift marshaling areas
- Maintain snow levels on accesses and around buildings
- Communicate effectively with all departments regarding operations
- Work cooperatively as a member of the grooming team to ensure safe work practices are adhered to at all times
- Complete log sheets
- Comply with all department and company policies, and procedures
- Refuel and perform routine maintenance on machines
- Perform other tasks, as assigned by management
- Uphold the highest standard of internal and external customer service at all times
- Follow all Safe Work Practices and Job Training
- Assist passengers with entering and exiting machine, ensure passenger wear seatbelts
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to sit for the duration of the shift.
- Ability to lift and carry 20kg at times.
- Must be able to kneel, bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill duties.
- Requires grasping, tool use, writing, standing, sitting, driving, shoveling, repetitive motions, climbing, listening and hearing ability, and visual acuity.
Wage: $21.00 -$32.00/hr Depending upon experience
