Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Dog Grooming Assistant to join our pet care team. In this role, you will support professional groomers by preparing dogs for grooming, assisting with grooming procedures, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for our furry clients. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in pet grooming and customer service within a friendly, pet-focused setting.
Responsibilities
- Assist groomers by restraining dogs safely during grooming procedures
- Prepare dogs for grooming by bathing, drying, and brushing as needed
- Maintain cleanliness of grooming tools and work area to ensure hygiene standards
- Help with loading and unloading dogs from grooming stations or kennels
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating with pet owners and answering basic questions
- Handle heavy lifting when moving large or heavy dogs safely and carefully
- Ensure the safety and comfort of pets throughout the grooming process
Requirements
- Prior experience working with animals is preferred but not required; a genuine love for pets is essential
- Strong customer service skills to interact professionally with pet owners
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling large or heavy dogs
- Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to follow safety protocols at all times
