Our expectations
A Business Development Manager works to improve RONA's position in the market and achieve the desired financial growth. This person builds healthy and long-lasting relationships with clients, identifies opportunities, negotiates, and closes deals while maintaining a thorough knowledge of the current Dealers market conditions.
The role
The primary role of the Business Development Manager is to prospect for new clients through networking, cold calling, store visits, advertising or other means to generate the interest from potential clients, convert them into customers, and continue to grow its business in the future.
- Business Development: Plan persuasive approaches and pitches that will convince potential customers to do business with the company. Make presentations on solutions and services that meet or predict the future needs of his clients.
- Relationship Building: Build financially beneficial relationship with new customers, setting sales goals, and offering support that will continuously improve the relationship.
- Support Existing Dealers: Help in supporting, growing and maintaining existing RONA dealers in establishing their growth and market consolidation strategies.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with management, marketing, credit, legal, finance and technical staff to increase sales opportunities and thus maximize top line and bottom-line profits for RONA.
- Strategic planning: Develop the pipeline of new business coming into the company. This requires in-depth knowledge of the market, the solutions/services that the company can provide as well as the programs offered in the market from the competition.
The qualifications we are looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration
- 5 years of experience in Business Development
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Prospecting and negotiation skills
- Presentation and Deal Closing skills
- Hardware & LBM Industry Experience
- Finance and Analytical acumen
- Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time and meet deadlines.
- Ability to travel extensively within his region including overnight stays
