Role and Responsibilities
The OpCo Finance Manager is a key member of both OpCo Management and the Global Finance team. The OpCo Finance Manager is required to provide strong financial leadership to the business, continually building trust and integrity through the provision of timely, accurate and insightful information and sound commercial judgement.
Oversight of the month end close process in conjunction with the Accounting team, ensuring the achievement of all budget targets and forecasts for the OpCo.
Preparation of P&L forecasts to include: Revenue, COGS, Payroll, Headcount, S,G&A and CAPEX.
Responsibility for the provision of a monthly Financial Pack to include P&L vs. budget and forecast, Revenue, COGS, Payroll, Headcount, S,G&A, CAPEX, Backlog and Order Intake, along with insightful commentary and analysis to explain key movements and variances.
Overall responsibility for the preparation & delivery of the monthly OpCo BPR presentation - to include insightful commentary and analysis.
Ensure timely billing of project milestones and active management of cash collections.
Preparation on monthly project profitability reporting ensuring the delivery of all projects in line with margin.
Preparation of monthly labor utilization reporting, ensuring appropriate capture & recovery of all hours for billable personnel & utilization/recovery rates in line with expectations.
Full ownership and delivery of the annual budget for the OpCo and Canadian legal entity, including liaison with global leaders in agreeing the allocation of globally budgeted costs to the OpCo.
Ownership of all standard rate cards (material, labor, travel etc.) for the OpCo.
Ownership of all labor rates for the OpCos.
Ownership of all standard rates and inputs for OpCo pricing proposals.
Review and sign-off of all pricing proposals for OpCo ILI service opportunities.
Responsibility for all OpCo capex applications, ensuring capex expenditure in line with approved spend.
Preparation and annual update of the OpCo Strategic Business Plans.
Preparation of all cash flow forecasts and cash management for the OpCo and Canadian legal entity.
Responsibility for all statutory and compliance returns for the Canadian legal entity, including statutory audits, tax compliance and tax audits.
Initial point of contact for all Finance related issues in Canada.
Ad hoc financial planning and advice for the OpCo & Canadian legal entity as required.
Qualifications and Educational Requirements
Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance is required
Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountants of Alberta (CMA) are preferred
7+ years relevant professional experience
Prefer work experience as lead accountant at subsidiary of mid-sized / global organization
Good working knowledge of ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics experience a distinct advantage
Strong written and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to interact effectively and confidently with employees of all levels including senior management
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast paced and challenging international environment
Strong self-starter with the ability to drive continuous improvement and positive change across the OpCo and wider organization
Fluent English – both written & spoken
