Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history and physical examinations.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on osteopathic principles.
- Administer medications as necessary and monitor patient responses to treatments.
- Provide pain management strategies tailored to each patient's needs.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals in a hospital or
- home care setting to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain accurate medical records using electronic health record systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Stay updated with current research and advancements in osteopathy and related fields.
- Educate patients and their families about treatment options, preventive care, and healthy lifestyle choices.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid province license to practice osteopathy.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and patient care protocols.
- Experience in pediatrics is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with pain management techniques is a plus.
- Proficient in using electronic health record systems (Epic, Cerner) is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and research in the field of osteopathy.
