Warehouse Associate / Material Handler
Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Warehouse Associate to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving, picking, packing, and shipping materials accurately and efficiently, while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all tasks are completed safely and in a timely manner
- Identify, report, and correct unsafe conditions or hazards immediately
- Follow all safety procedures; use of PPE is mandatory at all times
- Assist customers with pick-up orders and support CSR/Sales with shipment inquiries
- Participate in cycle counts and inventory control activities as required
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient warehouse environment
- Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes and workflows
- Pick, pack, and ship customer orders accurately and efficiently
- Receive, label, and stock merchandise properly
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and protection of inventory, supplies, and equipment
- Comply with all shipping, labeling, and regulatory requirements
Requirements
- Previous picking experience preferred (RF scanner experience an asset)
- Valid and current forklift certification (counterbalance and/or reach truck)
- High school diploma or GED required; additional education or equivalent experience an asset
- Ability to read, write, count, understand, and communicate in English
- Previous receiving or inventory experience considered an asset
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lb bags over short distances
- Ability to tilt or maneuver up to 450 lb drums using a dolly
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
