Job Summary
We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Dispatcher to coordinate transportation and logistics operations within our supply chain. The ideal candidate will efficiently manage freight movements, communicate effectively with drivers and clients, and utilize various transportation management systems to ensure timely deliveries. This role is vital in maintaining smooth operations across shipping, receiving, and overall supply chain functions. The Dispatcher will play a key role in optimizing freight processes and supporting our logistics team to meet operational goals.
Responsibilities
- Schedule and coordinate freight shipments using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) such as SyteLine and AS400.
- Communicate with drivers, clients, and internal teams via multi-line phone systems, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and communication skills.
- Manage shipping and receiving activities, ensuring accurate data entry and documentation.
- Monitor freight movements, track shipments, and provide status updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Analyze transportation data to identify efficiencies, delays, or issues requiring resolution.
- Collaborate with 3PL providers and internal departments to streamline supply chain operations.
- Maintain organized records of shipments, delivery schedules, and related documentation.
- Assist with problem-solving related to freight discrepancies or delays through effective analysis skills.
- Support the overall logistics process by coordinating with warehouse teams on shipping & receiving schedules.
Qualifications
- 6 to 12 months Proven experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), AVAAL, AS400, or similar platforms.
- Strong data entry skills with high accuracy and typing proficiency.
- Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and the ability to handle multi-line phone systems professionally.
- Knowledge of supply chain processes, freight management, and shipping & receiving operations.
- Analytical skills to assess logistics data and identify process improvements.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and scheduling. Pay: $17.00-$25.00 per hour
