Duties
- Thoroughly wash and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen tools to uphold food safety standards.
- Assist with basic meal preparation tasks such as ingredient prep, assembling dishes, or portioning items under supervision.
- Maintain cleanliness in all kitchen areas including sinks, counters, floors, and storage spaces to ensure a safe working environment.
- Support food handling procedures by following proper hygiene practices and safety protocols at all times.
- Organize dishware and kitchen supplies for efficient storage and easy access during busy service periods.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely clearing of tables and quick turnaround of clean dishes for ongoing service.
- Follow all health regulations and safety guidelines to promote a hygienic and compliant kitchen environment.
Skills
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service setting is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of food handling safety standards and sanitation procedures.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing for extended periods, lifting moderate loads, and bending.
- Familiarity with basic food preparation techniques such as washing produce or assisting with meal assembly.
- Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward supporting busy kitchen operations.
- Good communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members during service hours.
- Willingness to learn new skills related to food safety, meal prep, and kitchen operations.
