We are seeking a highly motivated Speech Language Pathologist to join two other team members As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for providing primarily therapeutic services to clients with communication disorders. You will work closely with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans that meet the unique needs of each client.
Responsibilities:
· Conducting assessments to diagnose communication disorders
· Developing individualized treatment plans based on assessment results
· Providing direct therapy to clients 3 – 17 years of age with communication disorders
· Monitoring client progress and adjusting treatment plans as needed
· Documenting client progress and maintaining accurate records
· Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care
· Participant in case management to ensure continuity of care
· Completing reports as required.
· Create and maintain cooperative working relationships with First Nation community workers. in order to make referrals and mobilize community resources for client welfare;
Requirements:
· Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program –
· Registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO) - qualifying accepted
· Proof of Insurance
· Experience working with clients with communication disorders
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Ability to communicate effectively with First Nation people, including sound knowledge and understanding of issues impacting mental, emotional, physical and spiritual health in contemporary society (Cultural Competency training will be provided)
· Positive, non-judgmental and inclusive towards people experiencing challenges;
· HYBRID MODEL Ability to travel bi-weekly leaving Monday returning Friday with a team-mate (Specialist in another discipline) then the following week is less hours as you support/prep services from your home. More hours during the on-site week. Departure cities can be Toronto, Ottawa, or Thunder Bay.
Self employed independent contractor with up to 110 hours per month - one week in First Nation (longer hours) and less hours on the alternate week.
Drivers license is required as you will be renting a car and driving with the team from Winnipeg to Shoal Lake Ontario. (You are not working in Manitoba, just flying there).
