Job description
We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and dependable Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join our primary care practice and work closely with the physician and healthcare team to provide high-quality, patient-centered care.
The successful candidate will support day-to-day clinical operations, assist with patient assessments and treatments, provide health education, and contribute to an efficient and welcoming patient experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Patient triage and assessments
- Administration of immunizations and injections
- Blood pressure monitoring and other routine measurements
- Assisting with in-office procedures
- Booking diagnostic tests and explaining preparation and follow-up instructions to patients
- Providing patient education, health promotion, and preventative care
- Clarifying physician instructions and treatment plans with patients
Qualifications and Requirements:
- RN or RPN designation
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Demonstrates competence within the full scope of practice
- Knowledge of College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) Standards of Practice
- Experience in primary care, family practice, ambulatory care, community health, or a related clinical setting is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to perform nursing assessments and clinical procedures safely and competently.
- Strong understanding of infection prevention and control practices.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMRs) and basic computer applications.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the physician and broader healthcare team.
- Commitment to patient confidentiality, privacy, professional ethics, and patient-centered care.
This position is based in a primary care/family practice setting and involves regular interaction with patients of varying ages and health needs. The nurse will work closely with the primary care physician to ensure safe, timely, and coordinated patient care.
This position is full-time at 37.00 hours per week.
