We are currently seeking applicants to fill positions on our Production Crew.
Production Crew Worker’s report to the Hatchery Manager. Crew member will play a key role in the processing of eggs and chicks within the hatchery. This is a position that requires a strong aptitude for team work, a keen interest to learn about poultry production aspects as they relate to incubation, and a dedicated mindset to quality production and continuous improvements.
Responsibilities and Duties:
· Grading and sexing of chicks and preparation for shipment to customers in accordance with hatchery policy
· Grading and traying of eggs
· Cleaning and sanitation duties including washing dollies, egg trays, setter clean-up and hatcher room clean-up in accordance with hatchery procedures and SOPs
· Handing and preparation of vaccines as required
· Assisting chick delivery drivers with the deliveries to farms and the placement of chicks as required
· Adhere to WHMIS, SOP’s and Safety Policies
· Completion of required reporting paperwork
· Other duties as directed by Manager/Supervisor
Qualifications:
· Ability to stay focused working under pressure in a fast-paced production environment as part of a team and/or with little supervision.
· Ability to read and understand information and records related to the production
· Ability to work physically that involves lifting, pushing and pulling of a moderate amount of weight (30 – 40 lbs) and requires working on-your-feet for extended periods of time
· WHMIS knowledge and proper use of PPE during cleaning and disinfection process is an asset
· Must be dependable, hold an above average attendance record and have own transportation
