Overview
We are seeking a professional and courteous Phone Operator to join our team. This role is essential for maintaining effective communication. The ideal candidate will live in the local area, possess excellent communication skills, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to handle multiple calls efficiently. Our company is staffed 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Candidates must be able to work shift work including some weekends and holidays. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a positive organizational image while developing valuable customer service experience. Days and times of shifts will vary and will be 32-40 hours.
Duties
- Answer incoming calls promptly and professionally, directing callers to the appropriate department or individual
- Provide accurate information regarding company services, hours, and policies
- Take detailed messages and relay them accurately in a timely manner
- Manage call queues and prioritize urgent inquiries effectively
- Maintain a clean and organized front desk or reception area
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments or sending follow-up communications
- Assist with emergency calls, radio communications and report detailing
Experience
- Excellent verbal communication skills with a clear and friendly tone
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with standard office software and phone systems is desirable
- Demonstrated professionalism, patience, and problem-solving abilities are essential for success in this role
Pay: $17.00 per hour
