We are currently seeking a Systems Engineer for our Ottawa facility.
The successful candidate will contribute to a variety of development projects, with the primary responsibility being to ensure that the expectations of customers and other stakeholders are met successfully. The role requires a broad, multidiscipline background in relevant systems and technologies, and the ability to maintain a top-down high-level view of projects.
Duties will address areas of Systems Design, including:
Development of systems engineering management plans
Stakeholder and system requirements definition
Development of architectural designs including product breakdown structures
Technical risk management
System integration activities
Collaborates with customers, regulators, and program managers to develop top-level requirements which encompass the needs of all stakeholders.
Defines the design deliverables necessary for successful project execution with a team of engineers of varied disciplines
Performs architectural design and requirements specification for complex systems-of-systems.
Works with engineers of varied disciplines to define system interfaces, including the associated interface requirements.
Understands, manages, and mitigates technical risks to ensure project success.
A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (e.g. Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering) from an ABET-accredited university is required.
A minimum of 5 years of related professional engineering experience is required.
Design experience in reactors, radiochemical systems, or other complex systems is required.
Must have general understanding of Systems Requirements, Architecture, Interface Definition, and Design.
Must have demonstrated ability to collaborate on the creation, development, and presentation of technical briefings.
Must have demonstrated ability to recognize and solve problems and recommend solutions to technical problems.
Must be a self-starter, capable of effectively working both as part of a team and independently.
Familiarity with standard MS Office applications is required.
Advanced degree in a STEM discipline.
Knowledge of International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) practices and handbooks.
Knowledge of DOORs or other requirements management tools.
Knowledge of Model Driven Architecture (MDA) / Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
