Reporting to the Director of Recreation & Culture, the Facility Manager is accountable for managing and leading the day-to-day operation of the recreation centre, including supervision of a large and diverse compliment of full and part time staff. While maintaining a high level of customer service, the Facility Manager responds to and addresses customer feedback, inquiries and requests in a timely manner, while ensuring established policies and regulations are adhered to by all users. The Facility Manager is responsible for ensuring a positive and productive workplace that is welcoming and inclusive for all.
Key Job Duties:
You will recruit, select and hire full and part-time staff and determine their training needs
You are responsible for preparing and monitoring annual operating and capital budgets and ensuring that revenue targets are achieved and operating expenses are kept within budget
You are committed to quality customer service and innovation to improve efficiency and reduce costs, and work collaboratively across all sections of the department, and the corporation, to achieve our collective goals
Diploma in Recreation Facility Management or equivalent
Minimum of five years progressively responsible experience in a recreation facility environment or minimum of 2.5 years supervisory experience or a combination of training, education and experience deemed equivalent
Strong knowledge of building systems including HVAC, Fire Alarm Systems, Public Pool/Public Spa Regulations and the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations
Certified Pool Operators Certificate, and current Standard First Aid/CPR C/Defib
Proficient Microsoft Office and knowledge of CLASS registration software is an asset
Valid Class 'G' license with a clean abstract
B Ticket or a 4th class would be an asset
Ability to provide a current criminal reference check/vulnerable sector screen satisfactory to the Town
