Job Description:
Reporting to the Director of Communications and Corporate Affairs, the Information Technician's principal work consists of carrying out various technical duties related to the gathering, selection, consolidation and distribution of information and preparation of the college’s organizational and promotional documents.
More specifically, but not limited to, the Information Technician:
Clerical activities of the Communications and Corporate Affairs Office:

Greets, informs and guides students, employees and visitors of the Communications and Corporate Affairs Office;

Distributes and maintains stock of materials and documents;

Processes payment requests and submits DMPs and DMAs for the department;

Revises and improves some texts in English and in French from the point of view of composition, syntax, and vocabulary and ensures their appropriate technical presentation;

Records and produces official minutes for all Board of Governors meetings;

Creates, maintains and updates the database of feeder lists, high school and relevant organizations;

Prepares and dispatches mailings as required.
Events:
-
Acts as the lead organizer of Open House and Information Evening;
- Supports and works closely with the Communications Advisor - High School Liaison in the organization of other major college events (Graduation, Guidance Counsellor Day, etc.);

Proposes new ideas to improve the event planning and implementation process.
Student for a day and high school visits:
-
Organizes and oversees the “student for a day” activities, including coordinating with departments/coordinators, managing student registrations and welcoming student participants;

Acts as an ambassador for Vanier College at high school recruitment events, engaging with prospective students to guide and inform their educational choices.
Other related tasks which fall within the scope of the classification of this position may be assigned.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (35 hours/week)
Telework: Due to the front-line nature of this role, this position is not eligible for telework.
Qualifications:

To have a diploma of college studies (DEC) in an appropriate specialty or a diploma or an attestation of studies which is recognized as equivalent by the competent authority.

Excellent oral and written competencies skills in English (to be tested);

Excellent oral and written competencies skills in French (to be tested).

Access to personal vehicle for high school visits;

Ability to transport and lift recruitment materials, including boxes of brochures and promotional displays for high school visits and events.
