The team behind Dovetail is expanding and preparing to open an exciting new restaurant concept in Vancouver, Bevel. We're currently seeking an experienced Sous Chef to play a key role in shaping the kitchen, the team, and the opening.
Looking for: Sous Chef
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate daily kitchen operations
- Prepare and cook food according to recipes and quality standards
- Supervise kitchen staff and provide guidance and training as needed
- Ensure proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices are followed
- Collaborate with the executive chef to create new menu items and specials
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as necessary
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Assist with food service during busy periods
Skills:
- Strong culinary skills with experience in a professional kitchen setting
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and flavor profiles
- Ability to lead and motivate a team of kitchen staff
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of restaurant management principles and practices
- Bartending experience is a plus
- Ability to handle food safely and follow health and safety regulations
- Exceptional hospitality skills to provide excellent customer service
