Looking for relationship specialists!
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Winnipeg is looking for 1-2 part-time caseworkers to complete all aspects of program delivery on a one-year term contract (with opportunity for renewal.) You will specialize and be passionate about constructing healthy relationships between safe adults and youth in our community.
You will work within a variety of all our youth-mentoring programs and have the keen ability to interact joyfully with people of all ages and cultural backgrounds.You will be interested in social service work that is anti-oppressive, and strength-based. Any experience in narrative or play therapy is an asset, as is an understanding of mental health. Background education in child development, conflict resolution and/or post-structural philosophy will be an incredible asset.
You will be comfortable interacting with people over the telephone, in-home, at school, and through email/text, and be able to multi-task and stay well organized. Attention to detail is absolutely required.
You will be interviewing, assessing, match-making, coaching established matches, training mentors, supervising group programming, and supporting families.
At a minimum, you will have a bachelors degree in a human services field (or be graduating in 2019). You absolutely must be a quick learner, and very comfortable with computers; able to type quickly, and accurately. Communication (oral and written) skills are an absolute must. A love of writing is definitely helpful.
You ABSOLUTELY MUST be able to work a mixed schedule comprised of generally evening and weekends and some afternoons. (22.5 hours per week) You must have a cell phone.
