The Food & Beverage Supervisor is a very hands-on position and is an integral part of our operations team. You will be expected to oversee member dining, bar operations and events. Our Food and Beverage Supervisor is expected to help, lead, and motivate the Food and Beverage (F&B) Service team to strive towards offering our Members and their guests outstanding service.
- Note: This contract is set to end June 30, 2025 with possibility for extension into a full-time role.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Consistently offer professional, friendly, and engaging service to Members and their guests while continually striving to exceed Members and guests expectations.
- Review weekly BEOs with the F&B Service team and fully understand logistics, set up notes, and requirements for each event.
- Oversee set up of banquet spaces and member dining outlets, including all food, beverage, AV requirements, and proper settings for dining.
- Communicate all last-minute changes and pertinent information to the Kitchen and Service teams as needed. Keeps Assistant F&B Manager informed of significant changes to BEOs.
- Ensure all staff are in full and proper uniform throughout the shift.
- Receive, investigate, and act upon complaints from Members and guests at functions. React quickly and professionally to settle any issues.
- Assist with implementing training programs in the member dining, bar and event services
- Conduct pre-shift briefings with staff prior to service times.
- Be hands-on when required and assist staff with moving furniture, boxes, and other objects as needed to meet tight deadlines.
- Ensure clean, tidy, organized, and stocked back-of-house service areas.
- Assist with or oversee regular products, China, and cutlery inventory. Informs designated person of ordering needs.
- Ensure proper billing and accuracy of all functions and dining chits and submit to Accounting the next business day.
- Occasionally serve as Manager on Duty, carrying health and safety responsibility of all employees, Members, and guests. Fully knowledgeable about RCMI emergency procedures and policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 1+ years in an F&B supervisory role with a successful track record in demonstrating career growth.
- Private Club or Private hospitality sector experience is an asset.
- Flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays.
- Working knowledge of various computer software programs (including POS, MS Office Suite, etc.) is required.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills are required.
- Knowledge of wines and spirits is required.
- Smart Serve Certification is required.
- Food Handlers Certification an asset.
- Excellent leadership, attitude, and willingness to learn is required.
- A degree or diploma in Hospitality is an asset.
- Must be qualified to work in Canada legally for the employer.
