THIS IS A TEMPORARY 9 MONTH POSITION
Position Overview
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Human Resources, the TEMPORARY Recruiter plays a pivotal role in sourcing, attracting, and selecting top-tier candidates to join our organization. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing effective recruitment strategies, building a strong talent pipeline, and ensuring a positive candidate experience throughout the hiring process. The Recruiter is expected to be customer service-oriented and exhibit a high degree of diplomacy and discretion.
Accountabilities
Recruiting
- Supports the recruiting strategy to ensure FMB attracts high caliber talent in a timely manner;
- Performs full cycle recruitment to support all business lines by completing tasks such as:
- Conducting phone screens
- Scheduling interviews
- Creating interview questions
- Interviewing
- Criminal reference checks
- Personal reference checks
- Creates and monitors job postings, advertising externally as needed;
- Determines sourcing & attraction strategies/methodologies to increase FMB’s ability to attract, source and recruit indigenous candidates;
- Supports orientation of new employees as needed;
- Ensures compliance with local and federal Employment Standards.
Other
- Maintains employee files and records;
- Understands and applies HR policies and guidelines ensuring compliance;
- Promotes consistent company culture in alignment with FMB values;
- Supports initiatives in Employee health, safety, and wellness.
The Recruiter performs other duties as necessary.
Qualifications
- Post-Secondary Education in Human Resource Management from a recognized educational institution or relevant experience required;
- Minimum of two (2) years recruitment experience;
- Previous experience, knowledge or understanding in Indigenous culture an asset;
- Experience connecting with and/or recruiting Indigenous candidates a strong asset;
- Excellent communicator with a strong command of written and spoken English; French or Indigenous language skills considered an asset;
- Exceptional relationship building skills;
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail;
- Knowledge of Canadian federal employment/labour laws and general human resources policies and procedures;
- Effective working skills of Microsoft and Adobe software products.

Working Conditions
- This position is based out of Winnipeg, MB. Hybrid work arrangements may be considered.
- May require occasional national travel.
