Rogers Radio is recruiting a world class programmer to lead KiSS 92.5 Toronto and our CHR stations nationwide. This role will be responsible for editorial direction, content, brand experience and talent across our CHR stations. The successful candidate will have a resume that demonstrates a proven track record in radio programming and multi-platform content creation. They will also be an inspirational and empathetic leader who performs at their best in highly competitive situations. This role will be part of the Rogers Radio Programming Leadership Team and reports to the VP, Product & Talent.
Partner with the VP, Product & Talent to build the strategic plan for CHR portfolio;
Lead the effective implementation of the agreed strategy for each station in portfolio;
Day to day programming of KiSS 92.5 Toronto, focusing on brand development & audience growth;
Manage programming budget
Lead national programming initiatives & innovations across all platforms;
Work with Marketing & Creative to create streamlined and consistent advertising, marketing and promotion materials for each station within the CHR format;
Work with Production teams to create streamlined National Imaging and Content branding;
Provide and support cross-promotional targeted content and ensure National team is providing value to Rogers initiatives;
Embed Rogers Vision & Values into national team;
Provide editorial direction to the CHR team;
Develop targeted on-air, online and social media content for the format;
Partner with Insights team on questionnaire design and the strategic research for format planning;
Stay informed on general trends in industry and regulatory changes/updates;
Coaching and development of Local Station Program Directors and On-Air talent;
Develop National programming and promotional initiatives to deliver ratings and revenue across all stations within the CHR format; and
Collaborate with Sales, Promotions and Commercial Programming to develop national promotions and revenue generating initiatives in content.
5-7 years of radio programming experience in the CHR/Top 40 format
Ability to provide thought leadership & clear direction across the CHR portfolio;
Extensive knowledge of CHR music format, pop music and the music industry;
A deep understanding of the Radio audience and consumption;
Ability to analyze ratings and research data, make business decisions based on analysis;
Ability to manage people through influence vs command;
Be a clear & persuasive communicator; and
Adept at managing numerous project simultaneously
