Our client, a growing insurance organization, is looking for a Financial Planning & Analysis Manager to join their team and play a key role in shaping their newly established FP&A function. Reporting to the VP of Finance, this is a highly hands-on opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys working closely with leadership, understanding business performance, and turning financial data into actionable insights.
You will take a forward-looking approach to financial planning, with a strong focus on budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, and business partnering across multiple legal entities. This is a newly created position with the opportunity to introduce FP&A best practices, improve financial processes, and help build scalable reporting and planning practices as the organization continues to evolve.

- Compensation: $110,000–$130,000 base salary + annual bonus
- Please note this role is fully remote, with travel required to the client's Toronto office 4-5 times a year.

Responsibilities
- Lead and support annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning across multiple legal entities, with forecasting being a key focus
- Partner with the VP of Finance and operational leaders to understand financial performance, business drivers, and emerging trends
- Conduct variance analysis and translate financial results into actionable insights and recommendations
- Develop and maintain financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, scenario analysis, profitability assessments, and strategic initiatives
- Prepare financial reporting, dashboards, and executive-level materials to support senior leadership and Board discussions
- Establish and enhance FP&A processes and best practices within this newly created function
- Connect financial results with operational activity, including sales, underwriting, and other key business performance indicators
- Work across two legal entities and multiple financial systems to improve the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of financial data
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting, streamline workflows, and strengthen financial accountability across the organization
- Support finance transformation and process improvement initiatives, including the planned 2027 ERP implementation
- Monitor KPIs and financial metrics, identifying risks, opportunities, and trends that may impact business performance
- Provide forward-looking financial analysis and strategic recommendations to support decision-making and sustainable growth
- Lead and delegate data validation and reporting activities to the Senior FP&A Analyst
- Support expense management, cost optimization, and effective allocation of financial resources
Skills & Experience
- CPA designation is required
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
- Previous Big 4 experience with firms such as EY, KPMG, Deloitte, or PwC
- Experience in FP&A, financial planning, corporate finance, or a related function
- Strong budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, and variance analysis experience
- Proven ability to translate financial data into clear business insights and actionable recommendations
- Strong business partnering experience with senior leadership and operational stakeholders
- Advanced Excel skills, including XLOOKUP, Power Query, Pivot Tables, and advanced data manipulation
- Power BI experience is an asset
- ERP implementation or finance transformation experience is an asset
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
- Leadership experience is an asset; candidates stepping into their first people-management role will be considered
- Insurance or financial services experience is an asset, but not required
- Proactive, adaptable, and solutions-oriented with the ability to build structure and processes within a newly created function
