Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Part Time Instructor for our Abacus program to inspire and educate young learners in developing strong math skills through engaging and interactive lessons. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about working with children and fostering a positive learning environment. The instructor will be responsible for delivering effective instruction, supporting students’ cognitive development, and creating a stimulating classroom experience. Prior experience in teaching or tutoring, especially in math or computer science, is highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Conduct engaging Abacus classes tailored to children's learning needs and age groups
- Develop lesson plans that incorporate fun, educational activities focused on math skills
- Support students in understanding fundamental mathematical concepts using the Abacus method
- Foster a positive, encouraging classroom environment to motivate student participation
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to help improve their skills
- Collaborate with parents and staff to ensure student success and address individual needs
- Maintain classroom organization and ensure all teaching materials are prepared beforehand
- Incorporate technology and computer skills to enhance the learning experience when appropriate
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in educational or tutoring settings preferred
- Strong background in Math, Computer Science, or related fields
- Classroom experience or teaching background is a plus
- Knowledge of special education strategies is advantageous
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to create an engaging and supportive learning environment
- Familiarity with computer skills relevant to educational tools and software
- Passion for teaching and helping children develop their academic potential
Pay: $17.20-$25.00 per hour
