XBASE Technologies is looking for an Intermediate Network Technician to join our in-house engineering team. You'll work hands-on with client network infrastructure across a mixed environment of Cisco switching, Fortinet security, and Linux-based systems, with automation playing an increasing role in how we deploy and maintain that infrastructure.
This is an in-person role based out of our Toronto office, with occasional on-site client work.
What You'll Do
- Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain Cisco switching and routing infrastructure
- Deploy and manage Fortinet firewalls, including VPN configuration (site-to-site and remote access)
- Administer and support Linux servers and services in production environments
- Build and maintain Ansible playbooks to automate configuration, deployment, and remediation tasks
- Diagnose and resolve network performance and connectivity issues across client sites
- Document network changes, configurations, and standard procedures
- Participate in project work including network upgrades, migrations, and new site deployments
- Escalate and collaborate with senior engineers on complex issues
What You Bring
- 3-5 years of hands-on network administration or engineering experience
- CCNA certification (required)
- Solid working knowledge of Cisco IOS switching and routing
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting Fortinet firewalls (FortiGate)
- Practical Linux administration skills (command line comfort is a must)
- Experience writing or maintaining Ansible playbooks for network or systems automation
- Strong understanding of VPN technologies (IPsec, SSL VPN)
- Comfortable working independently and managing multiple priorities
- Strong written communication skills for documentation and client-facing updates
- Valid driver's licence (occasional travel to client sites required)

- Experience in a managed services provider (MSP) environment
- Additional certifications (Fortinet NSE, CCNP, Linux certifications)
