We are currently hiring for the position of:
SUMMER INTERN (ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT FINANCE)
The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) is looking for an enthusiastic, organized, and curious student to join the Finance team as a Summer Intern supporting the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This short-term internship is a chance to learn what happens behind the scenes at one of the world’s leading film festivals while helping with important administrative and organizational tasks during the busy lead-up to the September festival.
The student will be supported by experienced team members and will gain early exposure to financial planning, event operations, project coordination, and professional office skills in a welcoming, fast-paced environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The intern will be exposed to a wide range of tasks across the Finance team. More straightforward tasks can be completed with growing independence, while more complex tasks will include guidance and support from the CFO and Finance team as needed, such as:
CFO & Administrative Support
Organizing digital and physical files related to festival planning activities.
Preparing meeting materials, agendas, and presentation binders for the CFO.
Scheduling meetings and managing calendar requests for the CFO.
Taking meeting notes and preparing summaries.
Supporting basic research and/or report preparation to gain broader exposure to finance-related tasks.

Finance and budgeting processes within a major arts organization.
Event and festival planning fundamentals.
Professional communication and workplace etiquette.
Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Current Grade 12 student or recent Grade 12 graduate.
Strong organizational and time-management skills including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and keep files and project trackers neatly structured.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with Google Suite / Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, Calendar) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Attention to detail and consistency in completing assigned tasks.
Positive attitude, curiosity, eagerness to learn and willingness to ask questions.
