As a member of the Cameco Fuel Manufacturing senior leadership team, you will provide technical oversight for those that provide process support, reliability insight, and maintenance of the production equipment in the facility. This individual needs to be committed to continual improvement and willing to work in collaboration with various groups to deliver on objectives and targets.
Responsibilities:
- Focus includes conventional safety management activities such as accident/incident investigations & corrective actions as well as advancing a safety culture and behaviors' consistent with Cameco's expectations through employee engagement and leadership field presence.
- Plan, lead and coordinate the Port hope Technical Services department to ensure the process technologists and skilled trades resources are supported to enable the delivery of safe, reliable production.
- Provide technical assistance to the process technologists who are responsible for providing hands on equipment set up, troubleshooting operational issues and implementing improvements to production equipment.
- Participate, plan and lead continuous improvement and manufacturing excellence initiatives to improve quality, throughput, efficiencies ,on-time deliveries and to reduce costs.
- Support the reliability culture at the site by being an active member of the Asset Management and Reliability group and implementing processes to improve the reliability of all site assets and efficiency of the maintenance resources.
- Act as the Technical Design Authority confirming the proper use of the design process with the appropriate Subject Matter Experts involvement for facility designs.
- Effective communication and collaboration with various stakeholders and departments to achieve expectations regarding Safety, Environment and Product Quality.
- Offer leadership, development and direction the Technical Leads and provide absentee coverage when required.
- Improve performance of the organization through employee performance coaching, skill development and appraisals.
- Data driven analysis and problem solving to address identified opportunities.
- Contribute, support and possibly lead new Capital Projects.
- Ownership and upkeep of process and maintenance related documentation.
- Create maintenance and process annual departmental budgets and execute spending within that budget.
- Oversight of work groups operating typically on a three shift, 5 day schedule.
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Proven leadership experience in manufacturing (3 plus years)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills that support effective communication and relationship building to enable of all levels of the organization.
- Strong organizational and and self-managing skills to prioritize and demonstrate accountability.
- Strong computer skills with the MS Office Suite
Assets:
- Professional Engineer designation
- Experience in a Manufacturing Environment
- Experience in Lean/Six Sigma methodologies
- Knowledge of Casual Analysis Tools
- Familiarity with Quality Systems
- Knowledge of Industrial Animation
- Experience developing and managing effective relationships with a unionized workforce
- Understanding, Development and Maintenance of Process Failure Mode Effects analysis
- Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional Certificate
