Duties and Responsibilities:
- Haul aggregates to various work sites in Calgary and the surrounding area.
- Load and unload equipment and secure loads for transportation as required.
- Perform daily preventative maintenance inspections and safety checks to proactively identify any potential mechanical issues and advises the Transportation/Service Manager.
- Keep truck in clean and professional condition at all times.
- Complete daily accurate pre-inspections and post-inspections regulatory logs and timesheets.
- Complete daily accurate Field Level Hazard Assessment sheets for all worksites.
- Ensure truck/trailer are returned to the company yard full of fuel at the end of each day.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A minimum 2-year experience.
- Must have a valid Class 1 driver’s license and provide current 5-year driver abstract.
- Must be able to drive standard (18 speed).
- Experience with a quad would be an assist
- Active Standard First Aid Certification is considered an asset.
- Construction Safety Training System (CSTS2020) Certification.
- Ability to identify and describe mechanical issues on the truck/trailer.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment.
- Must have own transportation with strong knowledge of Calgary and surrounding area.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
- Must be available to work long hours including evenings and weekends.
- Must have CSA approved safety boots.
- Able to sit for long periods of time and look over shoulder.
- Able to climb up and down from equipment.
