Job Summary
Keenline Innovation Technology & Training Inc. is a Southern Ontario-based company seeking a GIS Specialist for a flexible, part-time, remote position. Keenline works with municipal clients to support the management and maintenance of roadway assets including pavement markings, road lines, signage, and related infrastructure.
In this role, you would be responsible for the maintenance, organization, and development of GIS data, web maps, dashboards, and mobile data collection applications used internally and by field crews. The position also involves supporting municipal asset management workflows and assisting with ongoing improvements to GIS systems and processes.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining and updating GIS datasets and hosted feature layers
- Designing and supporting ArcGIS Online applications (Field Maps, Dashboards, Web Maps, Experience Builder, etc.)
- Converting existing data into geospatial datasets
- Managing geodatabases, domains, related tables/layers, and data integrity
- Publishing and maintaining GIS services through ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online
- Supporting field data collection workflows and troubleshooting user issues
- Creating maps for municipal clients
- Assisting with workflow automation and process improvements where applicable
Requirements
- Degree in or related to GIS
- Proficient with ArcGIS Online (Field Maps, Web Maps, Dashboards, Notebooks, Experience Builder, etc.)
- Experience using ArcGIS Pro, including: Geodatabases, Domains, Related tables/layers and Data management and publishing to ArcGIS Online
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks remotely
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to convey cartographic/analytical concepts and workflows to non-GIS personnel
- Configuration of mobile GIS workflows (Field Maps, Survey 123)
- Understanding of cartography and data visualization principles
Assets / Nice to Have:
- Experience working with municipal infrastructure or asset management
- Familiarity with Arcade expressions, Survey123, or Python automation
- Experience working in a self-guided, self-motivated environment
This position would be ideal for someone who is looking for GIS-related work that is flexible and remote, with hands-on involvement in real world application of GIS technologies in a municipal space. No previous knowledge of road/intersection design or planning is required.
Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
