About the opportunity:
The Senior Analyst specializes in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) supporting Supply Chain. This individual plays a pivotal role in providing critical financial reporting and analysis insights to Supply Chain management and the Business Units. The role will support the improvement of various financial reporting, analysis, forecasting, and the budgeting processes enabling decision-making within the organization. A strong Senior Financial Analyst in FP&A brings together a blend of technical expertise, strategic insight, and effective communication skills. By leveraging their financial acumen and analytical prowess, they support senior leaders in making informed decisions that drive the organization’s growth and profitability. Their contributions extend beyond traditional financial reporting to encompass strategic financial planning and business performance optimization.
The attributes we are looking for:
1. Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual P&L, reports
- Consolidate financial data from various departments and business units.
- Conduct variance analysis to identify key drivers of financial performance.
- Provide insights into trends, opportunities, and risks based on financial analysis.
2. Forecasting and Budgeting:
- Collaborate with business partners to gather inputs and assumptions.
- Develop forecast models which easily update as assumptions change, report at various levels/views
- Complete the annual budgeting process, aligning financial targets with strategic goals.
3. Business Decision Support:
- Partner with Supply Chain Management to translate strategic and operational initiatives into a financial view
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to drive business decisions.
- Continuously track KPIs against budget and LY and show risks and opportunities
- Assess the financial impact of operational changes or market dynamics.
4. Financial Acumen and Expertise:
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of financial principles and accounting standards.
- Utilize financial metrics and KPIs to measure and monitor business performance.
- Interpret complex financial data to extract actionable insights.
5. Communication and Collaboration:
- Present financial analysis, prepared and summarized in the appropriate format/files suitable for the business, issue, stakeholders
- Communicate financial concepts and results to non-financial stakeholders.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as Sales, Industrial, and Operations.
- Foster strong relationships with business partners to drive financial literacy and accountability
What you will bring:
· Bachelor’s degree in finance or business
· Minimum 5 years experiences in FP&A or related function
· Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA) required (or in progress)
· Experience in CPG industry is an asset
· Supply chain experience an asset
· Ability to think strategically, connecting the business and financial “dots” as new issues or opportunities arise
· Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
· Advanced Excel and proficiency with PowerPoint
· High attention to detail
· Ability to solve complex problems
· High level of business acumen
· Ability to think creatively, highly driven, and self-motivated
· Proficient with SAP environment is an asset
· Power BI or other related experience is an asset
· TMS experience is an asset
