Persaj Countertops is a leading custom countertop manufacturer specializing in natural stone, quartz, porcelain, and ultra-compact surfaces. We are looking for a motivated and reliable Stone Shop Labourer to join our production team and support our fabrication operations.
Position Overview
This position is ideal for someone with previous experience in a stone fabrication shop, stone CNC environment, countertop manufacturing facility, or warehouse handling heavy materials. The successful candidate will assist with slab handling, fabrication support, machine operations, shop organization, and quality control.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely move, load, unload, and transport stone slabs using overhead cranes, forklifts, dollies, and A-frames.
- Assist fabricators, CNC operators, and polishers with daily production activities.
- Support CNC machine setup, material loading, and unloading.
- Perform basic fabrication tasks, including edge finishing, polishing, cleaning, and preparation of stone pieces.
- Inspect materials for defects, damage, and quality concerns.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Assist with packaging, staging, and preparing completed projects for installation.
- Follow all company safety procedures and policies.
- Support other production departments as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a stone fabrication shop, countertop manufacturing facility, stone CNC shop, or related industry preferred.
- Experience handling natural stone, quartz, porcelain, granite, or marble is an asset.
- Previous experience operating or assisting with CNC machines, bridge saws, polishing equipment, or fabrication machinery is considered an advantage.
- Experience in a warehouse environment handling large and heavy materials is beneficial.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work and lift heavy materials safely.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively within a team.
