We are seeking a Supply Chain Business Development Specialist to join our Supply Chain & Distribution Services team in Calgary or in Edmonton Alberta.
Working within a team environment, the Supply Chain Specialist identifies, prospects & develops business opportunities & relationships for our Distribution Services business unit. The Specialist has a specific focus on strategic sales and marketing of the complete supply chain service offerings for Transloading, Trucking and Warehousing assets. Establishing a key understanding of our customer supply chain requirements both inbound and outbound, with the ability to build and nurture relationships at multiple levels within the client business structure from senior management through to shipping and receiving departments. This role will manage a portfolio of existing accounts, monitoring customer needs, Kleysen performance and identifying opportunities for growth. The Supply Chain Business Development Specialist will review contract terms & conditions, and negotiate commercial terms & conditions and rate increases, expanded services & volume, etc. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of our business to develop all inclusive rail and truck transportation and logistical solutions in a variety of industry sectors and can effectively coordinate & work with the multi-disciplinary teams to ensure customer satisfaction.
Our COVID protocols will work both from the office and at home as may be required.
This role requires an individual keenly interested in a transportation & business development career with the following:
Supply Chain transportation and logistics knowledge, and experience in a business development role.
Strong commitment to assigned customer accounts & identify opportunities to provide additional transportation services. Monitors customer activity and status to ensure high standard of service.
Strategic thinker to identify business development opportunities with existing & potential customers
Effective people skills working within a team environment
Exceptional verbal & written communication skills to develop a long-term relationship with our customers by gathering details of the customers’ business, identifying opportunities and review of commercial contracts
Excellent time management and organizational skills in handling volume of work, changing demands and various source of information
