Magna Mining Inc. is a Sudbury-focused, base metal exploration and development company.
Magna Mining’s key objective is to become the next nickel and copper producing company in Canada by executing a growth strategy that is focused exclusively on the historic nickel producing district of Sudbury, ON.
We intend to achieve this objective via the creation of a Sudbury focused, hub and spoke production model, with our existing Shakespeare project as the hub. The path to the creation of a significant new battery metals producing Canadian company is to execute a long term, multi-faceted growth strategy.
The Manager, Project Services is responsible for leading commercial oversight, scheduling and project controls for capital and sustaining projects across Magna Mining. This role ensures projects are delivered with consistent standards for cost, schedule, contracts, reporting, risk management and change control.

Key Areas of Responsibility & Duties

Establish and maintain stage-gate processes, and approval protocols across projects.

Ensure compliance with corporate policies, capital governance standards, and regulatory requirements.

Lead project assurance reviews, health checks, and readiness assessments.

Ensure compliance project execution procedures, reporting templates, and performance KPIs.

Inform commercial strategy for EPCM, EPC, construction, and service contracts.

Lead commercial risk mitigation, claims management, and dispute resolution.

Support procurement and tender evaluations for project packages.

Monitor contract performance, payment certifications, variations, and commercial compliance.

Manage forecasting, cash flow, financial controls and project budget estimating for project portfolios.

Oversee integrated cost, schedule, progress, and change management systems.

Ensure accurate forecasting, earned value analysis, and variance reporting.

Consolidate portfolio-level reporting for executives and investment committees.

Monitor project trends, productivity, and risk exposure.

Drive consistency in planning and project controls methodologies.

Facilitate enterprise project risk management processes.

Maintain portfolio risk registers and mitigation plans.

Support the development of detailed scopes of work (SOW) for tendering processes.

Review and approve change requests, contingency utilization, and deviations.

Ensure lessons learned are captured and implemented across projects.

Interface with project managers, mine operations, engineering teams, finance, legal, and external partners.

Support strategic decision-making with commercial and operational analysis.
Qualifications: Formal Education, Certifications or Equivalents

Post-secondary education in Engineering, Construction Management, Commerce, Finance or a related discipline.

MBA, PMP or equivalent certification is considered an asset.
Work Experience: Nature & Length

10 or more years of related experience in large capital projects.
Key Competencies: Behaviours & Skills

Background in project governance, commercial/contracts management, project controls and reporting and capital project deliver.

Experience supporting multi-project or portfolio governance structures.

Advanced understanding of project lifecycle governance, cost and schedule controls, contract law and commercial administration, risk management methodologies, capital budgeting and forecasting.

Established commercial acumen, negotiation and influencing skills.

Proficient with Microsoft Office365.
