HVAC Project Manager
Location: Pitt Meadows, BBC. Travel to projects throughout the surrounding Fraser Valley.

Hammer's Heating & Cooling is a growing residential and commercial HVAC company serving Pitt Meadows, Langley, and communities throughout the Fraser Valley. We are seeking an experienced HVAC Project Manager to oversee heating and cooling projects from signed agreement through final installation. This position requires a well-rounded HVAC professional with hands-on knowledge of installation, service, and repair who can effectively coordinate technicians, materials, suppliers, schedules, budgets, and customer communication.
You will be responsible for keeping projects organized, on schedule, and within budget while ensuring that the field team has the information and resources needed to complete quality work. The ideal candidate takes ownership, anticipates problems, documents project changes, and follows through until every project has been successfully completed.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage residential and commercial HVAC projects from signed agreement through completion.
- Review project scopes, estimates, equipment selections, and customer expectations before work begins.
- Create and maintain project schedules.
- Coordinate technicians, suppliers, subcontractors, equipment, and materials.
- Ensure the field team has the correct equipment, materials, and project information before arriving at the jobsite.
- Monitor active projects and address scheduling, material, labour, or technical issues.
- Visit jobsites to review progress, workmanship, safety, and project conditions.
- Apply HVAC installation, service, and repair knowledge when supporting the field team.
- Maintain regular communication with customers throughout each project.
- Provide timely updates regarding scheduling, progress, delays, or changes.
- Track project costs and identify potential budget problems before they affect profitability.
- Keep projects within the approved scope, schedule, and budget.
- Document changes in project scope and ensure change orders are properly recorded and approved.
- Coordinate required inspections, permits, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Maintain accurate project notes and documentation.
- Conduct or coordinate final walkthroughs with customers.
- Confirm that deficiencies and outstanding items are resolved promptly.
- Support high levels of customer satisfaction, positive reviews, and referrals.
- Help establish and monitor project performance standards, including schedules, budgets, margins, and change-order documentation.
Qualifications
- At least five years of professional HVAC industry experience.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of HVAC installation, service, and repair is required.
- Previous experience supervising HVAC projects, crews, or installations is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of residential and commercial heating and cooling equipment.
- Ability to read and understand project scopes, estimates, technical specifications, and installation requirements.
- Experience coordinating technicians, suppliers, subcontractors, equipment, and materials.
- Understanding of job costing, project budgets, labour requirements, and profit margins.
- Ability to identify potential problems and develop practical solutions.
- Strong leadership, organization, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
- Ability to manage several active projects and changing priorities.
- Professional, dependable, and accountable for project outcomes.
- Comfortable using basic project, CRM, or field-service software; Jobber experience is an asset but not required.
- Valid driver's licence and a driving record that meets company insurance requirements.
- Ability to travel to projects within approximately one hour of the company's Pitt Meadows location.
Pay and Benefits
- Full-time, permanent employee position.
- Base pay: CA$80,000 per year.
- Eligible for a discretionary performance bonus based on project schedules, budgets, margins, and documentation standards.

- Schedule: Monday to Friday, approximately 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with occasional additional hours as required to address active project needs.
