This Senior Manager opportunity with a growing CPA firm in Markham offers exactly that.
You’ll help lead the Private Enterprise practice, working closely with Partners across owner-managed and privately held businesses. The work spans compilations, review engagements, corporate tax and advisory, but the bigger opportunity is having a genuine say in how the practice develops.
For the right person, there is also a clear route toward Partner.

What you’ll be doing:
- Lead complex compilation and review engagements
- Review files prepared by Managers and Seniors
- Resolve complex accounting and financial reporting matters
- Review T2 corporate tax returns
- Manage senior client relationships
- Identify accounting, tax and advisory opportunities
- Oversee workflow, staffing and deadlines
- Coach and develop Managers and junior staff
- Support recruitment and internal training
- Work directly with Partners on significant client matters
- Get involved in networking and business development
- Contribute to the continued growth of the Private Enterprise practice
What they’re looking for:
- CPA designation
- 10+ years of Canadian CPA firm/public accounting experience
- Strong Private Enterprise / owner-managed business background
- Significant experience reviewing compilation engagements and financial statements
- Experience leading more complex client engagements
- Strong corporate tax knowledge
- Experience managing and developing professional staff
- Strong client relationship skills
- Commercial mindset and interest in practice development
- CaseWare, TaxCycle, Sage or QuickBooks experience useful
- U.S./cross-border tax experience would be a strong asset
- Interest in progressing toward Partner
The usual schedule is around 3 days per week in office, with greater attendance during heavier periods and busy season.
